The Naxxar Malta Parish Organ - re-sampled and re-worked 2020
The Updated Naxxar (pron. Nash -shar) Sample-set - Completely re-worked from new recordings done during lock-down (21 March 2020)
I was hoping for a miracle - and it happened, in a way I could have never imagined and at a great cost to the world sadly. The Covid-19 pandemic provided that opportunity to re-visit this organ and as the entire world stood still, and life held in pause, there I was at the Santucci Organ registering much smoother recordings with minimal disruptions. Even the birds stopped chirping; no dogs barked. The opportunity was simply unique and I could not let it go by! The result is a beautifully sounding instrument which I dedicate to all those who have suffered or died of the virus that swept across the globe and continues to do so as I write. May each hymn played on thisvirus, however good or bad, be a prayer to all the souls that were consumed by the pandemic, to all the workers at the front-line who selflessly put their own life in manifest danger to help those who were struck down by it and to all those who survived but lost loved ones.
This organ has just been released for GO and for HW. This will be the last set for HW (see main webpage). Each download will allow for loading semi-dry (with no releases other than those in the main samples) or wet (by loading all releases).
Donations through PayPal (payable to friend: marcusfb(at)gmail.com) will be most welcomed.

The Italian Baroque Organ (based on Naxxar Organ - 2013)
This sample-set is also available as an "Italian Baroque" virtual instrument based largely on recordings made in 2013 in an unavoidably noisy environment. Augustine Takats spared no effort in extracting as much out of these samples as was technically possible and has succeeded to some extent in bringing to us an organ that is pretty close to the original.
Fresh recordings were made at a much quieter time on the 21 March 2020 - taking advantage of the national lock-down imposed during the Corona Virus Pandemic. This resulted in much less digital manipulation, rendering the virtual instrument a more faithful representation of the real instrument, preserving the historic character and tonal qualities of the organ built by Santucci in 1775 and reconstructed by Robert Buhagiar in 2001 who reversed many changes that were carried out over the decades that destroyed its Sicilian baroque style, and restored the voice back to that typical of the original organ builder.
This website is the only legitimate place to download the sample-sets related to Naxxar Organ.
The older Italian Baroque Organ is available only for HW4
* File 01 (dry) is required before installing File 02 so both will be sent for the wet / surround version.
The newer Naxxar Malta Parish Organ is available for GrandOrgue and HW 4 & 5
